Fix 'Indexed, though blocked by robots.txt'
Google found links to a URL that robots.txt blocks, so it indexed the bare URL without crawling it. It may show up in results with no description.
Decide what you want
- You want it indexed: remove or narrow the Disallow rule that matches it. The checker shows the exact line.
- You want it out of Google: remove the Disallow so Google can crawl it, then add
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">or anX-Robots-Tag: noindexheader. Once it has dropped out, you can disallow it again if crawl budget matters. - It's junk (internal search, filters): it's often fine to leave as is. The warning is informational.
After fixing it, click "Validate fix" in Search Console. Validation can take days to weeks.
